The Thèsez-vous Board is looking for three new student-members who wish to actively support the non-profit and further academic research practices.
Board members ensure the development and sustainability of Thèsez-vous. They have a mandate to participate in:
This is a two-year volunteer mandate that involves two-hour meetings every six weeks.Personal and collaborative workload, including preparation time and other related tasks, is estimated at 1 hour per week. This workload could unfold irregularly according to upcoming activities.
Board members work voluntarily towards the organization’s goals. It is a unique chance to get to know the organization from within, to share your ideas, and to participate in the development and growth of a community of new researchers. Being a Board member is also about acquiring new skills, sharing knowledge, and gaining in human experience and personal growth.

Candidate profile
Requirements:
At a minimum, candidates must be graduate students at a Canadian university, with a good command of both French and English. Meetings and communications are primarily in French, but those who prefer to speak English are encouraged to do so.
Assets:
Given the restructuring that Thèsez-vous has undergone over the past year, we will give special consideration to candidates with a prior and distinctive knowledge of our organization as team members or service users. A preliminary experience with other organisms or on boards of directors is an asset to fulfill this position.
Skills, knowledge or experience in one or more of the following areas is also considered an asset:

- Sociocratic decision-making (according to the principles of sociocracy);
- Defining the organization’s orientations and projects as well as supervising their implementation;
- Formulating management mechanisms related to the organization's activities (strategic, financial or operational)
- the supervision of targeted work committees on various issues at stake for the organization.
